VFP: OzFox 2007 update – Rick Schummer joins as a speaker

V

This post has both good and bad news…

Firstly, we regret to report that Craig Boyd has had to withdraw from OzFox due to a family emergency. This is a sad turn of events, and we wish Craig and his family all the best during this difficult time.

Secondly however, we are very pleased to advise that we have secured Rick Schummer to take Craig’s place. This is exciting news, as Rick (a Fox MVP) is a highly respected and very experienced VFP presenter.

I am especially thankful to Rick and Doug who have undertaken to present the entire opening keynote presentation that Craig was scheduled to give. Rick and Doug will be working closely with Craig to gather all details, materials and demos that Craig was to present. This is yet again one of the wonderful things I love about the VFP community. Even though both Doug and Rick are extremely busy, and attending a number of conferences around that time, they have jumped in to organise this extra session (in addition to their own 3 sessions each) – all so that the conference will continue to be a big success. My heartfelt thanks to both of them.

So, that’s the latest news on OzFox 2007.

The full list of sessions is available on the web site here.

There is still a day or two left to take advantage of the January early bird special, so don’t delay folks.

And, if you missed the newsletter from a week ago (sign up on the home page if interested), then check out the first of our local speakers being announced.

There’ll be a second local speaker announced in a week’s time, and a few other surprises in store after that.

Please spread the word to any VFP developers you know. We’ll see you all in just 3 weeks time!
