Microsoft has an acquisition KPI

Always one to one-up his Monkey boy grab of yesteryear, Steve this time tells the Web 2.0 conference that Microsoft will acquire 20 companies a year.

Instead of outlining a strategy that details finding the best and most exciting technology companies and purchasing them (no matter how many, or what cost), he instead puts out a number (20) and a valuation range ($50M – $1B). Meaningless.
